Where are you from?
I was born in Hadsten in 1978, I moved to Aarhus as 18 years old. 2 years later I moved to Copenhagen. Where I worked for 11 years as decorator / visual merchandiser. In the recent years, my need for creative independence has grown.
What is your background?
Since my teenage years, drawing, art and the creation process has attracted me.
Therefore, I have never doubted that my passions are art and tattoo.
I have a constant need to create and develop artificially, whether it's tattoo, art or creating objects.
When did you start drawing/painting?
I moved back to Aarhus in my early 30's, where my passion for tattoo became a reality. I became a tattoo apprentice in a tattoo shop and 3 years later I opened my own tattoo / art studio.
My independence is now reality.
What do you think is the biggest challenge for a painter/artist in the 21st Century?
The biggest challenge for a pretty new artist like me is to drag people's attention, it can be a creative killer when I look at the endless possibilities of the internet.
Why did you decide to join Aarhus Makers?
I now try the market that Aarhus Makers opens up for, there is room for "small" artists like me. It takes great patience to start as a creative artist, it takes time and a lot of work to build something from scratch.
What piece of advice would you give to anybody that wants to become an artist?
The only good advice I can pass on is to be true to who or what you are and give all your passion to whatever you are doing.
