(Open 1-3 May and 8-10 May)
Aarhus artist Torben Buus brings his pop art-style creations to END OF THE LINE for a solo exhibition.
WORKS is a walk-through exploration of Buus’ practice - showcasing the evolution of his techniques, approaches and styles since he started to paint. The exhibition maps a chronological timeline from where his work began, how it has transformed today, and what’s next in his artistic vision.
Heavily influenced by pop art and street art, with references to his background in graphic design, Buus’ works incorporate iconic imagery inspired by pop culture, music and film.
An expression of self, his artworks are laden with vibrant acrylic and aerosol paints, collage and metals which combine to form distinctive artworks that burst from their frames. WORKS will showcase a collection of original fine art pieces, art posters and a new insight into Buus’ creativity: large-scale graphic design formats applied to canvas.
“Visitors to END OF THE LINE will see a large variety of my works. Right now I am experimenting and playing with my style to discover what I enjoy creating most. Hopefully, they can see it all comes from the same person - one who is continually evolving his techniques and style over time.”
